Krystel Marois, originally from Sherbrooke (Canada), currently lives and works in Montreal (Canada). She completed with honors a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) in 2010, with a major in Photography. Her artistic practice recalls the creative agency of European artists and the aesthetic lighting concepts synonymous with the Baroque period. She distinguishes herself from her classical and contemporary influences in her abandonment of theoretical concepts and methodologies in order to focus on the purity of her subject matter, as well as maintain the captivating and often visually haunting quality to her works. Her photographs have mostly been shown in North America and in Europe and are part of private collections.
